Farming simulator 17 graphics settings
then change it to the previous resolution and then lower your other settings like MA and AF and compare the FPS between the two tests, after you compare the fps and gameplay you can then continue tweaking the settings around till you find the settings that feel right to you. for instance first try lowering the resolution by one setting then look at your fps, and then play the game to see how it plays at that setting. Try turning the settings to the max then whatever FPS you get u start to lower the settings one at a time so that you can start getting close to 60 fps. Generally you should aim to use both as mixing and matching will usually result in the most optimal settings for your hardware. Settings like MA and AF will take up alot of the GPUs power so you have to ask yourself "do i want a higher resolution or do i want higher MA and AF or a mix of both". I had to do that with Ark:Survival Evolved because i had everything turned up to max settings but i was only getting 30-40 fps, then when i started changing the settings around i was able to bring the game to life with around 50-60 fps and it looks amazing. raising and lowering every single setting you have until you find something that hits the 60 fps mark (or close to it). What u should be doing is trying out different things on your own till you find the sweet spot. Turning it off lets your GPU run as fast as possible and throw out as many frames as it can, the downside being that you can get screen tearing as frames are switched faster than your monitor can display them. V sync is a setting that caps your max frame rate to the refresh rate of your monitor- normally this is 60fps. I have a fairly hefty high end rig and even I experience slow downs when you get something like the above happening. I have had choppiness in FS at particular times when your swing your view at where a lot of vehicles are parked- people who have a lot of vehicles bought gives the game engine a lot of work to do rendering and simulating them, which it dumps on the CPU.
Running with all your settings like that, and then selecting a very high resolution, is going to kill your graphics card unless it is a very potent one. Would be very happy if someone can give me more input on this matter!Īny suggestions on what settings to go with to see if I can make the game run even smoother?
I obviously do not know how different graphic settings affects the work load on the CPU (or whatever it is that causes my game to go "choppy" at the wrong resolution and/or graphic settings). However selecting the maximum setting for my screen (5120x2880) makes the FPS drop to around 30.Īt the moment I am running at 2048x1152 and it´s a huge improvement from before but still some issues with "chopping video" now and then. I found (to my surprise) that selecting a higher resolution made my game run a lot smoother.
